She was married to P L Osborne at the home of her birth in 1856. To this union was born eight children, all survive her except one grown daughter who with the aged father were waiting to welcome their loved one to her eternal home. Read More	The Weekly Guard, Council Grove, Kansas Friday, June 8, 1917, page 8 Margaret J Neal was born in Monroe county, West Virginia, March 25, 1831, and died at the old home farm, three miles west of Council Grove, June 3, 1917. She was married to P L Osborne at the home of her birth in 1856. To this union was born eight children, all survive her except one grown daughter who with the aged father were waiting to welcome their loved one to her eternal home. The children who survive her are Mrs Mary Short, of Zellah, Washington, Mr George Osborne, Council Grove, Mrs May Park, Lincoln, Illinois, Mr W M Osborne, Council Grove, Mrs Bessie Berry, Wilsey, Kansas, Mr A C Osborne and Mr Clen Osborne, both of Council Grove. The family came to this neighborhood in 1778 [sic] and homesteaded the farm on which Grandmother lived until her death. They have been among the strong and influential homes of this community. At an early age she became a member of the M E church and lived a consistent Christian life during all these years. She was a kind and loving mother and a devoted wife, to know her. She will be greatly missed by her loving friends as well as her children. She had been bedfast since February 8, following a stroke of paralysis which left her helpless. She was a patient and trustful sufferer and now she is rewarded, while she is our earthly loss it is her eternal gain. The funeral service was held at the home at 2:30 pm Tuesday. Rev Henry, of Wilsey, conducted the service and interment was made in Greenwood cemetery. The community mourns the passing of this exemplary mother and neighbor.
