Margaret Jane Sprague was born in Aurora, NY, April 27, 1831, and was left motherless at the age of 2 years. At the age of 4 she was removed to Illinois and lived for 3 years near Chicago. Read More	Obituary: The Preston Times - Sep. 26, 1913 The death of Mrs. Margaret Jane Farley occurred at 4 o'clock Tuesday morning of complications of old age. Margaret Jane Sprague was born in Aurora, NY, April 27, 1831, and was left motherless at the age of 2 years. At the age of 4 she was removed to Illinois and lived for 3 years near Chicago. From there she came to Iowa, settling at Spragueville. It was her father who named that village. She was married August 16, 1861, to James Farley and for a number of years they resided south of Preston, but moved to town 25 years ago. The husband has been dead five years. Seven children were born to them, of whom five are now surviving -- John of Crescent, Oklahoma; Mrs. Warren Kellogg, of Miles; Mrs. C. B. Weasmer Cress, of Preston and G. E. of Wyoming, Iowa. There are 18 grandchildren with many friends who cherish her memory. The funeral was conducted at 10 o'clock Thursday a.m. from the home. The Rev. T. R. Gray officiating. Interment was in the Preston cemetery. [This is wrong, she is buried at the Buckeye Cemetery]
