Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ with Reverend Jan Christensen officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitations with the family present will be after 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars followed by a 5:00 p.m. Prayer Service Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Visitations will continue Monday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland and Big Sioux Chaper of the Alzheimer's Association. Pallbearers will be Ashley Manning, Scott Manning, Shane Manning, Troy Manning, J. D. Manning, Ethan Manning, Shawn Schiefen, and Dawn Hoebelheinrich. Honorary casket bearers will be Holly Earle-Schultze, Monica Siegrist, and Amber Busche. Margaret Jean Dennler was born May 7, 1927 at Le Mars, Iowa to Alvin and Margaret (Robertson) Dennler. Jean was baptized at the Plymouth Presbyterian Church, rural Le Mars, Iowa. She attended country school at Washington #4 and later attended and graduated from Kingsley High School in 1945. Following high school, Jean continued her education at Western Union College in Le Mars where she received her teaching certificate. She taught at a country school Northeast of Kingsley and later at the Brunsville school. Jean was united in marriage to Milo Manning on December 9, 1951 at Le Mars. Milo and Jean were the parents of 7 children. As their children were young, Jean was a stay-at-home mother. When all the children were in school, Jean went back to work. She had work in the dietary department for Le Mars Central High School, Harker's, and the Plymouth Manor Care Center until her retirement. Jean enjoyed camping, cooking, watching birds, and gardening. Her greatest joy in life was her children and later in life her grandchildren. She loved having her children and grandchildren visit. Her life was very family orientated. Survivors include 5 sons, Nick Manning and his wife Marlene of Le Mars, Bob Manning and his wife Ginny of Marcus, Milo Dean Manning of Le Mars, Larry Manning of Fredric, Wisconsin, and Dale Manning and his wife Teresa of Merrill; a daughter, Donna Mamey of Palm Springs, California; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betsy Schweitzberger of Kingsley and Gladys Zieger of St. Lawarence, South Dakota; a brother, Gale Dennler and his wife Idalene of Le Mars; and several nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Margaret (Robertson) Dennler; her husband Milo on April 26, 2008; a son Thomas Manning in 1989; and 2 brothers-in-law, Herb Zieger and Harold Schweitzberger.
