Margaret was born August 19, 1901 in Bladen, Nebraska to John and Katherine (Panzer) Blohm, She spent her childhood in Grand Junction, Colorado and attended high school in Fruitvale, Colorado. She previously lived in Nebraska, Telluride, Colorado and Mesa, Colorado before moving to Grand Junction where she has lived for 87 years. She married John E. Sanford, January 29, 1922 in Grand Junction. He passed away February 28, 1969 in Grand Junction. Margaret was a homemaker. She was a member of the German Lutheran Church in Grand Junction. She was a charter member and two time president of the Fruitvale Mother's Club. She worked for the Red Cross during WWII making bandages. She enjoyed bowling and the Older Americans Center, where she took part in many activities. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Buddy R. and Lorene Sanford of Grand Junction, Colorado; daughter, Eilene Strain of Clifton, Colorado; daughter and son-in-law, Leona and Jack Brophy of Grand Junction, Colorado; sister, Anna Jayne -of Arlington, Texas; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grand child, Cailahan-Edfast Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
