She is especially known by the old settlers of Anderson and Coffey County as she and her husband came to this county at an early day and have seen the transformation from a vast rolling prairie inhabited only by buffalo and indians, to one of prosperous farms. She was born in Sumerset, PA and was left a widow some ten years ago. She is the mother of 4 sons and a daughter. The daughter resided in Missouri and... She was born in Sumerset, PA and was left a widow some ten years ago. She is the mother of 4 sons and a daughter. The daughter resided in Missouri and the sons are all farmers and reside in this part of the county. Since her husbands death she lived with her sons. During her lifetime she experienced the Civil War and the invention of the electric light bulb. Her funeral was conducted by Rev. Fear at the Cherry Mound Church and remains interred in Cherry Mound Cemetery.
