Knight, 98, Beaver Crossing, died Tuesday, March 9, 1993, in Utica. She was born April 2, 1894, in Beaver Crossing to George and Louise (Crist) Heid. She attended school near Beaver Crossing. She married Walter Cook, and together they operated a general store in Beaver Crossing. Mr. Cook died in 1916. She later married Floyd Knight in Seward County. She owned and operated Margaret's Cafe in Beaver Crossing for many years, retiring in the mid-1950's. ... Knight, 98, Beaver Crossing, died Tuesday, March 9, 1993, in Utica. She was born April 2, 1894, in Beaver Crossing to George and Louise (Crist) Heid. She attended school near Beaver Crossing. She married Walter Cook, and together they operated a general store in Beaver Crossing. Mr. Cook died in 1916. She later married Floyd Knight in Seward County. She owned and operated Margaret's Cafe in Beaver Crossing for many years, retiring in the mid-1950's. Mrs. Knight was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society in Beaver Crossing, and Royal Neighbors of America. She was a former member of the Beaver Crossing American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Cook, in 1916, second husband, Floyd Knight, in 1941, a son, Walter D. Cook, six sisters and one brother. Survivors include her son Dick, sister and brother-in-law, Irene and C.H. "Homer" Johnson, and four nieces. Mass of Christian burial was held Friday, March 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Beaver Crossing with Monsignor Charles Keenan officiating. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Beaver Crossing.
