There will be no visitation. She was born on Jan. 16, 1907, on the family farm three miles south of Smithville, Ark., daughter of Ludwig Herman Kaiser and Ida Mae (Fortenberry) Kaiser. She attended school in Imboden, Ark., and graduated from Sloan Hendrix Academy in 1926. After graduation, she attended Draughon Business Colleges, Memphis, Tenn., and Fort Smith, Ark. For eight years, she did general office work, and for a year or more in the early 1930s, Louise and her sister, Mary, operated a cafe in Imboden, Ark. In 1938, Louise, her parents and brother moved to Tempe, Ariz. While they were there, Louise met Louis Meyer, her future husband. They were married on Aug. 30, 1939, in a lawn ceremony at the home of the Kaisers in Imboden, Ark. After their marriage, they lived on the Meyer family farm near Garnavillo, where they farmed from 1939 to 1954. After retirement, they spent the winter months in Arizona. Louis preceded her in death on May 17, 1988. In 1953, Louise wrote a family history called "Fortenberry." She incorporated historical dates and places into a personal story of her family. She had a great memory and kept wonderful family records. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, sewing, flowers, traveling and reading. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Garnavillo. Surviving are a sister, Mary Crabtree, of Pocahontas, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Meyer, of Garnavillo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Louis; a brother, Howard Kaiser, and a sister, Frances Walker.
