Ewing, 72, of 109 Blossom Lane, Salem, formerly of 37713 Laughlin Road, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. Ewing LISBON -- Margaret L. Ewing, 72, of 109 Blossom Lane, Salem, formerly of 37713 Laughlin Road, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. Born May 1, 1931 in East Palestine, she was the daughter of Charles and Alice (Dornon) Augustine. Mrs. Ewing lived in the Gavers area most of her life. A graduate of Kent State University, she taught in the Southern Local School District for 25 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the New Lebanon United Presbyterian Church, West Point Grange and Columbiana County Farm Bureau. She was preceded in death March 25, 1999, by her husband, John c. Ewing Sr., whom she married Sept 4, 1949. Survivors include two daughters. Mrs. Tim (Mary Ann) McGuire of Lisbon and Mrs. Mike (Sally Jo) Moore of Canonsburg, Pa.; two sons, Clem Ewing of Fredericktown and Bill Ewing of Hanoverton; a sister Betty Jane Mounts of Phoenix, Ariz,; a brother Dale Augustine of Alliance; and six grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, John C. Ewing Jr. on April 21, 20003; and a brother Albert Augustine. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the New Lebanon Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stephen Cramer and Rev. Meta Cramer officiating. Burial will follow in New Lebanon United Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the New Lebanon United Presbyterian Church, 36022 State Route, 518 Gavers, and also one hour prior to services Saturday.
