Description	:	Margaret Schommer, 85, of the Madonna Home in Lincoln passed away early Monday morning, April 8, 1985. Mrs. Schommer is a former resident of Lawrence, but has spent her last years in Lincoln. The Lawrence Locomotive, Thursday, April 11, 1985 Funeral services for Margaret M. Schommer was held Friday April 12, 1985 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Lawrence, Ne. The Very Rev. Charles Gergen officiated at the Mass of the Resurrection and at the graveside services at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Stanley Redmerski was homilist and con-celebrants at the Mass were Father Mark Pfieffer and Father Thomas Holman of Lincoln. Altar boys were grandsons David Oldham, Cory Hoelting and a great grandson Troy Arent. Lector was a grandson Kenneth Reinsch. Thomas Dolnicek led the congregation in singing the hymns "Amazing Grace", "Prayer of St. Francis", "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Tina Hoelting was organist. Scripture services were held Thursday evening April 11th at 7:30 at the church. Father Gergen presided. Pall bearers were grandsons: Bill Schommer, Gary Reinsch, Carl Hoelting, Tom Schommer, Kenneth Reinsch and Kelly Schommer. Honorary Pallbearers were Rick Schommer, Anthony Reinsch, David Oldham, Greg Schommer, Gary Hoelting and Tom Oldham. Margaret Schommer was born July 15, 1899 at Lawrence, Ne. to Henry and Anna (Walz) Heinz and departed this life on April 8, 1985 at the Madonna Care Center in Lincoln at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 24 days. She was married to Anthony (Tony) Schommer on March 29, 1921 at Lawrence. To this union seven children were born. Mrs. Schommer was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Altar Society before she moved to the Madonna Center in Lincoln in December 1972. Before her marriage she was organist at Sacred Heart Church for a number of years and was also employed at the Locomotive Office. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, always cheerful and ready to lend a helping hand. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and looked forward to their visits. Survivors are her children: S.J. Schommer of Lincoln, Jerome Schommer of Hartington, Mrs. Clarence (Bernice) Reinsch of Geneva, Mrs. Leonard (Imelda) Hoelting of Oxford, Mrs. Francis (Wilma) Gilmore of Monterey Park, Calif. and Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Oldham of Hastings; one sister Amelia Reiman of Greeley, Colo.; 24 grandchildren & 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, her parents and a sister Elizabeth Schroder and a brother Ambrose Heinz.
