Thomas moved the family to Burke County North Carolina and it was there Madge met and married Aaron "Ned" Tallent. They lived in Burke County, NC from 1825-1850 then moved to the Iotla section of Macon County North Carolina where they remained the rest of their lives. Madge's husband Aaron was a farmer.
