Maggie Heikens Wilts, daughter of Julius and Henrietta Meyer Heikens, was born in Grundy county on June 14, 1891. On February 22, 1912, she married Gratus Wilts. They farmed in the Steamboat Rock area for many years and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1962. Mrs. Wilts was a member of the East Friesland Presbyterian Church and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Henrietta Wilts, and Mrs. Fannie Ohling, three brothers and one sister. Those surviving are two sons: Julius Wilts of Eldora and Orville Wilts of rural Steamboat Rock; two brothers, John Heikens and Harry Heikens both of Wellsburg, two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Wulf of Wellsburg and Mrs. Anna Nederhoff of Ackley, and seven grandchildren. --newspaper clipping, source unknown --http://iagenweb.org/boards/grundy/obituaries/index.cgi?read=501075 Contributor: KDB (49659419) •
