Mrs. Pollema was born August 22 1911 in rural Hull, the daughter of Harry W. and Hattie (Te Slaa) Miersma. She was raised at Hull. She married Sibolt Pollema at Hull March 22, 1932. They lived in Hull, where she was a homemaker. Her husband died Sept. 6, 1970 in Hull. She became a resident of Valley Manor in 1996. She was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church in Hull where her grandparents were charter members. She enjoyed music. Survivors include her two daughters, Wilmina and Hendrine; five grandsons; one granddaughter; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret and Susan. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard G. Van Ravenswaay; and four brothers, Wilmer, Gerrit and his wife Celia, Joe and his wife Mina, and Henry Miersma.
