Description	:	Margaret Marie Plagman, the daughter of Harry I. and Emma Loy Scott, was born April 4, 1917, at her parents' home near Avoca, Iowa, and died January 1, 2009, at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 27 days. Margaret was baptized at the First Congregational Church in Avoca and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church west of Audubon. Margaret graduated from Avoca High School with the Class of 1935. Margaret was baptized at the First Congregational Church in Avoca and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church west of Audubon. Margaret graduated from Avoca High School with the Class of 1935. Margaret then taught rural schools for four years in the Avoca area. On June 26, 1940, she was united in marriage to LeRoy C. Plagman at her parents' home near Avoca. Four children, Harold, Robert, Sylvia, and Lorene were born to this union. They farmed in the Corley area and purchased a farm in Sharon Township in 1950. They farmed until LeRoy's death on October 31, 1982. Margaret moved to the Friendship Village in Audubon in July of 1983. Margaret sustained a fall in June of 2008 and her health deteriorated. Margaret enjoyed her family very much. She loved attending school functions, performances, and all aspects of her family's lives. She loved playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, teaching them how to tie their shoes, to love music, to embroider, and to bake. She taught them life lessons as she played with them. Those who lived far away were extremely good to call her daily to share their lives with her. Margaret also loved her family at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She cherished their warmth and friendship. Margaret was very talented. She was well known as a poet and entertainer. As a musician she played a mouth harp and an accordion. Her fingers were never idle as she enjoyed quilting, embroidering, making baby blankets and crosses, crocheting, or making gifts for every occasion. Margaret never drove a car, but had no trouble getting where she needed to go. She loved to bake bread (eight loaves at a time) and many pans of buns and cinnamon rolls. Her garden was also a great pride. Her 25 years at Friendship Village brought out her many talents and introduced her to many dear friends. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were her son Robert Plagman; her grandson David Plagman; her parents; her brother and sisters: Howard Scott, Ina Harris, Viola Scott, Esther Scott, and Vera Holtz. Survivors include her children: Harold and wife Supattra Plagman of Midwest City, OK; Sylvia and husband Darrell Christensen of Audubon, IA; and Lorene and husband Richard Keigher of Danforth, IL; her daughter-in-law: Marcia Smith of Lake City, IA; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law: Dorothy Mulligan, of Harlan, IA, Alice Wyant of St. Joseph, MO, Irene Long of Texas, and Mary Ann Plagman of Casey, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
