Born in Pryor, Okla., on Nov 18, 1913, she lived most of her life in Maryville before moving to a health-care center in Liberty in 1999. Mrs. Fisher was a graduate of the Maryville High School and attended Northwest Missouri State Teacher's College at Maryville. Born in Pryor, Okla., on Nov 18, 1913, she lived most of her life in Maryville before moving to a health-care center in Liberty in 1999. Mrs. Fisher was a graduate of the Maryville High School and attended Northwest Missouri State Teacher's College at Maryville. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Knabb Extension Club, Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Auxiliary to the Elks Lodge, and Business and Professional Women's club, all of Maryville. She married Vincent D. Tobin on Nov 19, 1937. He died in 1940. Then she married Frank R. Fisher on Feb 7, 1941, at Maryville. He died in 1981. Mrs. Fisher and her husband, Frank, owned and operated the Burntwood Inn in Maryville for 25 years. She also worked for the J.C. Penney Co. for 11 years and at Northwest Missouri State University, both of Maryville, for 15 years. Mrs. Fisher was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles L. and Lula Belle Wells; two brothers, Dr. Eugene H. and Forrest Wells; and a sister, Geraldine Hirter. Surviving: a son, Frank R. Fisher, Jr., Kansas City; and two grandchildren. Services were held at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Mo. Burial: Miriam Cemetery, Maryville, Mo. Source: St. Joseph MO News-Press-Apr 27, 2000.
