I guessing from research that Schlueter is the correct spelling. OBITUARY--MRS. T. VANDERHAM Brief mention was made in these columns last week of the death of Mrs. Theo. D. Vanderham, of this city, at the Akron Hospital, Monday, May 13, 1929, at aobut 9:20 p.m., following an operation for appendictis. She had not enjoyed the best of health during the past few years, but was able to attend to her household duties most of the time. On Friday, May 10, she became serioiusly ill and was advised by doctores that an operation was imperative. She submitted to an operation at the local hospital, and although everything possible was done for her, the end came Monday evening after a period of intense suffering, at the age of 65 years and 10 months. Wuebka Mary Schlueter was born July 15, 1863, at Mt. Olvie, Illinois, where she grew to young womanhood and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. In 1887 she came to Le Mars, Iowa, and December 31, 1889, was united in holy wedlock with Theodore Vanderham. Thise union was blessed with five sons and dour daughters, and three sons and two daughters preceded their mother in death. In 1890 Mr. and Mrs. Vanderham settled on a farm they had purchased east of Akron, Iowa, where they lived until 1899, when they moved to Akron. They lived here four years and then moved to Parkston, S. D., where they made their home until 1906, when they moved back to their farm east of Akron. In 1925 they again took up their residence in Akron and have since lived here. Mrs. Vanderham was a real homemaker, a loving and devoted wife and mother, a helpful, sympathetic friend and neighbor, always ready to assist in time of sickness or distress. She will be sincerely missed and mourned in a wide circle of friends, who extend their deep sympathy to the bereaved husband and the surviving children, Henry Vanderham, of Akron; Minnie Vanderham, of Grant township; Martin Vanderham and Mrs. Emmet McGraw, of Le Mars. Funeral services were held in Trinity Lutheran church in this city Saturday at 1 p.m., conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. A. Meske. The edifice was inadequate to accommedate all who assembled to pay a last tribute to the departed, who had so long resided in this community. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery in Grant township, this county. Relatives and near friends who came from a distance to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John Schlueter, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eden, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leaver, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meyer and Walter Schlueter, of Wolsey, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. John Borack, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolf Mordof and Henry Behrens, of Monticello, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. John Brownmiller, of Nunda, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. H.
