Margaret Mayer was born April 5, 1913 in Stratford, South Dakota, the daughter of Friederick and Martha (Sucket) Mayer. Margaret grew up in Ipswich, Tripp, and north of Wall. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip. Margaret Mayer was born April 5, 1913 in Stratford, South Dakota, the daughter of Friederick and Martha (Sucket) Mayer. Margaret grew up in Ipswich, Tripp, and north of Wall. She lived most of her adult life in the Wall area. Margaret was united in marriage to Clarence Ward White on December 29, 1930 at Sturgis, and to this union were born seven children. They made their home in the Pedro area for many years. She moved to Wall to work and send her children to school. Margaret enjoyed roses, horses, her children, grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Margaret was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Wall and the VFW Auxiliary of Quinn. Grateful for having shared her life include three daughters, Audrey Hoffman of Wall, Deloris Poss and her husband Donnie of Philip, and Margy Kjerstad and her husband Jerry of Piedmont; three sons Bill White and his wife Rose of Creighton, Bob White of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Fred White and his wife Arlene of North Platte, Nebraska; twenty-six grandchildren; forty-six great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; a sister Darlene Hill of Rapid City; a daughter-in-law Loretta White of Interior; a sister-in-law Rose Mary Mayer of Tripp, South Dakota, and a host of other relatives and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her husbands Clarence Ward White on May 3, 1991; Don Cress, and Forest "Bud" Williams. Also preceding her in death was her son Richard "Dick" White on October 9, 2005; a grandson George Hoffman; her parents; a son-in-law Maurice Hoffman; three sisters Pauline O'Niel, Esther Tillie, and Edna Lee; two brothers Alvin and Raymond Mayer; and three brothers in infancy, Daniel, Edwin, and Wilhalim. Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, January 10, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Leo Hausmann as celebrant, and Father Bob Baden as con-celebrant. Interment was in the Wall Cemetery. Rush Funeral Chapel of Wall in in charge of arrangements.
