Description	:	Margaret McKiver was born in Scotland in the year of 1850, and came with her parents, M. and Mrs. John McKiver to St. Mary's Canada, at the age of 4 years. In 1884, she came to Groton continuing to live here until the year of 1891, when she moved to Virginia. After living in Virginia six years, she again returned to South Dakota making her home at Groton a second time. While in Canada, in the year of 1871, she was married to Richard Carr, at Woodstock. Read More	Margaret McKiver was born in Scotland in the year of 1850, and came with her parents, M. and Mrs. John McKiver to St. Mary's Canada, at the age of 4 years. In 1884, she came to Groton continuing to live here until the year of 1891, when she moved to Virginia. After living in Virginia six years, she again returned to South Dakota making her home at Groton a second time. While in Canada, in the year of 1871, she was married to Richard Carr, at Woodstock. Two children were born from this marriage. A daughter, Mellissia and a son, James. In 1888, she was married a second time becoming the wife of George E. Hoag. From this union three daughters and one son were born. Mrs. Hoag passed away Tuesday, after being helpless for almost two years. She was about 94 years old at the time of her death. Those who survive are her daughters, Mrs. Maud Kurtz of Groton, Isabelle Deits of Sioux City, Iowa, and Gene Shoemaker of Tolna, N. D., also two sons, James Carr of Groton, and John Hoag of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, and one sister, Mrs. W. R. Preston of Groton, one brother, Thomas McKiver, of MacLeod, Alberta, Canada, and in addition, a number of grand children, great grand children, and one great-great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p. m., at the Paetznick Funeral Home. The Rev. H. W. Atkinson will officiate.
