Margaret Moss was born in Orangeburg on August 13, 1936, to the late Annie Culler Watson and Albert Chandler Watson II. She was a graduate of Orangeburg High School and earned a BS degree in Biology from Furman University. She moved eventually to St. Louis, MO where she worked in the Hematology Department of Barnes Hospital, and was an active member of Delmar Baptist Church, in whose community she raised her three children and met her second husband Robert Allan Lundgren, in 1971. They had been happily married for 40 years at the time of her death. Margaret Moss retired from science to become a homemaker, an occupation she relished. She loved to collect recipes and cook, she was a skilled visual artist (and earned an Associate's Degree in Art); and she enjoyed gardening, nature and the outdoors, singing, and all kinds of creative pursuits. She and Bob lived in Olathe, KS for 15 years, where she became passionately involved with Stephen Ministries, training and serving as a volunteer grief counselor. In 2006, she returned to her hometown, and she and Bob lived in a house next door to her childhood home. She enjoyed her memberships in the Azalea Garden Club (in which she served as chaplain), The Moultrie Chapter of the DAR, the Orangeburgh German-Swiss Genealogical Society, the Orangeburg Historical Society, several book discussion groups, and a creative writing group; and she delighted in singing in the Orangeburg Lutheran Church Christmas Cantata over several years. She was an enthusiastic curator of family genealogy and developed a newsletter for her many relatives nationwide. She belonged to the Limestone United Methodist Church, where her family has worshipped for generations. She is survived by her husband, Robert Allan Lundgren; her former husband, Joel William Allgood, MD, of Escondido CA; her brother, Albert Chandler (Al) Watson III and sister-in-law, Patricia Culler Watson, of Orangeburg; daughter and son-in-law, Hazel Anne Allgood and William Peria, of Seattle; daughter, Rachel Moss Dofing, of St. Louis; son, Joel William Allgood, Jr., of Los Angeles; three grandchildren, Kaylin Moss Dofing, Emily Marie Dofing, and Jacob Allen Dofing, of St. Louis. Known for her loving heart and bubbly sense of humor, she was a beloved aunt, cousin, and friend to so many.
