Description	:	Services for Margaret M.U. Nelson 83, Oakdale will be at 10:30 am Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at the United Methodist Church here. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 pm Tuesday at Marshall-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden. She died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh from a heart condition complicated by pneumonia. The daughter of Lawrence and Alice (Kinnan) Weltz was born on Nov 30, 1916, south of Oakdale. She attended rural Star School, then graduated from Oakdale High School in 1936. She married Leon Pitzer of Elgin in 1939. The couple moved to the Bob Ray Ranch near Elgin and in 1948 purchased a farm west of Oakdale. She moved to Neligh four years after the death of her husband in a farming accident in 1966. She married Virgil Nelson in 1971. The couple lived in Tilden for two years before moving to their home in Oakdale. Following the death of her second husband in 1986, she began traveling across the United States. Mrs. Nelson was a member of the Oakdale United Methodist Church, The Oakdale Senior Citizens center, the Friends of the Library, and the Oakdale Fun Club. Survivors include one son and his wife, Burce and Vonnie Pitzer of Oakdale; one daughter and her husband Lila and Dale McCain of Ericson; one stepdaughter, three grandsons, four great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands, one sister and five brothers.
