Read More	Obituary From “The Evening Journal,” Washington, Iowa, Tuesday, April 9, 1907, Page 4: Death of Mrs. James Hunter Crawfordsville, April 9 – (Special).–Mrs. James Hunter died yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock at her home in Crawfordsville. The cause of her death was cancer. She was 71 years and 26 days old. Margaret Neal, daughter of Joseph and Sarah McGussey Neal, was born in Mercer county, Pennsylvania, March 12, 1836. She came to Iowa with her parents in 1838, and settled in Crawford township. She married James Hunter, Nov. 6, 1870, the day Abraham Lincoln was first elected president. They lived in Crawfordsville continuously ever since. Mrs. Hunter is survived by her husband, James Hunter, and an adopted daughter, Miss Nettie Hunter. She has also two sisters, Mrs. Annette Strain, of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Sarah Johnson, of Clearfield, Iowa. Mrs. Hunter was a fine Christian woman, and was a member of the Congregational church here until that church disorganized, and then she joined the Methodist church. The funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the M.E. church, and were conducted by the Rev. J.H.
