Doneen, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 26th, 2017 surrounded by members of her loving family in East Wenatchee. She was born July 14th, 1929 in Wenatchee to the late Edward and Addie (Biers) Doneen. She was raised on the family farm located on the bench of Badger Mountain when the family wasn’t wintering in Wenatchee. As a young girl, Noreen and her sister, Marleen “Nanny”, would saddle their horses and ride to the top of Badger Mountain to their grandparents house to visit and enjoy some of their Grandma’s cookies. She enjoyed telling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren how one summer, she killed a manifold of rattlesnakes and made a necklace out of the rattles. The biggest sporting 13 rattles and a button. She was extremely proud of her family’s deep roots and loved to tell stories to her family and friends to share her heritage. She was a wealth of information on the history of Badger Mountain. She attended Steven’s Elementary School and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1947. She was a member of the Honor Society, the Debate Team and lettered in athletics. During her senior year, she was selected Princess Badger Mountain to represent her community in the Apple Blossom Festival. Upon graduation, she attended Wenatchee Junior College while she worked as a secretary at Morris Hardware, then briefly attended Marylhurst College in Oregon. On September 11th, 1948 she married Robert “Bob” Bromiley Jr. in Wenatchee. They made their home together on Badger Mountain where they raised their five children on their wheat ranch. After an accident on October 28th, 1967 that tragically took her husband, Noreen persevered and continued to work the ranch and raise her children. She met Lynn Daling of Waterville and they were later married on November 30th, 1970 in East Wenatchee. They made their home in Waterville where Lynn and his brothers also raised wheat and cattle. After her move to Waterville, she continued with her sons to work by helping them farm, run for parts and taking care of the house by going every day to the ranch. She ran two households for several years. On January 17th, 2008 she was widowed for the second time. She remained in Waterville at their home. Strongly devoted to her Catholic faith, she was fondly teased by her children as “Saint Margaret Noreen”. She was a member of the Junior Catholic Daughters of America. Later, a founding member of Holy Apostles in East Wenatchee. Upon moving to Waterville she became an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she served as the coordinator for C.C.D. classes and also served on St. Joseph’s Altar Society. She is a former member of the Badger Mtn. Ladies Club, served as a 4-H leader and later in life joined the Waterville Historical Society. Noreen was also known for her cake decorating skills making countless birthday and wedding cakes for over 40 years. She also attended classes and obtained the status of a Master Food Preserver preserving all forms of food and home-canning. She was also a master seamstress. Noreen was the biggest supporter of all her children and grandchildren. She followed their sports and activities, was an avid basketball fan, always cheering on the Waterville Shockers, Eastmont Wildcats, Richland Bombers, WVC Knights and the Gonzaga Bulldogs. She was also a faithful Seattle Mariners fan. The NCW Fair, along with her family’s projects, became another part of her family’s legacy. This past Fair in August was the first one ever missed by her in her lifetime. Noreen often referred to herself as a “Tough Ole Country Girl” which to all that knew her rang true. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 1985 which she fought fiercely one week shy of 32 years. Being kind to everyone was a lesson her father always taught her and she took to heart. When she was little, he always said to “be kind to all people.” She leaves a legacy of kindness to all who crossed her path. She lived her life strongly and deeply devoted to her faith, her family and her friends. Noreen is survived by five children, Clark (Melinda) Bromiley, Badger Mountain, Shay (Jeff) Gloyn, Richland, Mike (Virginia) Bromiley, Badger Mountain, Doug (Jan) Bromiley, East Wenatchee and LouAnn Bromiley, Waterville; her sister, Marleen (Bill) Witten, Badger Mountain; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sharon Daling, Waterville; 12 Grandchildren, Robert Bromiley, Waterville, Edward Bromiley, East Wenatchee, Evan Bromiley, Badger Mountain, Erika Schroeder, Phoenix, AZ, Derek Gloyn, Starbuck, WA, Adam Bromiley, East Wenatchee, Paige Bromiley, Wenatchee, Jason Bromiley, East Wenatchee, Rachel Bromiley-Goetz, Badger Mountain, Scott Bromiley, East Wenatchee, Tyson Suppes and Morgan Suppes both of Waterville; and 15 great grandchildren, Bailey Bromiley, Walla Walla, Haley Henson, Waterville, Madie Schmidt, Waterville, Hallie Bromiley, East Wenatchee, K.C. Bromiley, East Wenatchee, Emmett Bromiley, badger Mountain, Kianna Brusnon, Badger Mountain, Maddison Schroeder, Phoenix, AZ, Kaitlyn Schroeder, Phoenix, AZ, Drake Gloyn, Starbuck, WA, Brooke, Bromiley, East Wenatchee, Khloe Suppes, Seth Suppes and Amy Suppes all of Waterville. ; cousins Mike (Val) Doneen, East Wenatchee, Lucille (Jerry) Kenoyer, Cashmere, John (Joan) Powers, East Wenatchee, Marie Smith, Tacoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Robert “Bob” Bromiley Jr., her second husband, Lynn Daling and her grandson, Aaron Michael Gloyn, son-in-law, Wayne Suppes and several aunts and uncles. Our family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Julie Smith for years of care and Derek Whitehall, P.A.C., for his love, attention and friendship to Mom over the years. Also, we would like to extend our thanks to Carolyn Morley and her staff at Bonaventure Retirement Home for their care in Mom’s last days and to hospice for their loving attention. To lifetime friends Ruthella “Tiny” Skagen and Thelma Anderson Wolfe for your cards and visits while Mom was at Bonaventure. She treasured your lifetime friendship. To all visitors who came to spend time with Mom, just know that she truly treasured every moment of those visits. A special thank you to Florence McKay for your friendship and devotion to Mom the last three years. Visitation will be at Heritage Memorial Chapel on Wednesday from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm and Thursday from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm. A Rosary Vigil service will be held on Thursday, October 5th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Waterville. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, East Wenatchee, with Rev. Fr. Argemiro Orozco Celebrant and Co-Celebrant Father Gary Norman of Prescott, Arizona. The interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, East Wenatchee.
