Read More	Publication: Midland Times Date: November 21, 1 997 Page 9 Margaret Olive "Peg" Eichhorn June 29, 1920 November 13,1997 Margaret Olive "Peg" Eichhorn, 77,of Wyoming; Iowa died Thursday, November 13, 1997 at the Anamosa Care Center in Anamosa, Iowa, following a brief illness. Margaret was born June 29, 1920 at Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Harold A. and Olive H. Cramer Deischer. She received her education in the Monticello Schools and graduated in 1938. Margaret taught at the country school at Hale, Iowa for a time, and then went to the Iowa State Teacher's College at Cedar Falls, Iowa. She then, taught at the Castle Grove Country School for several years. On January 10, 1943, Margaret married John H. Eichhorn at Orlando, Florida. After John returned home from serving in the United States Army Air Corp, they made their home on a farm east of Wyoming, Iowa. In February of 1947, they moved onto the family's century farm where they continued farming. Margaret began teaching fourth grade at Monmouth School in 1963 and continued teaching until her retirement in 1980. Margaret was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the United Presbyterian Women, had served as Clerk of Sessions, and had been a church youth leader. She served as a 4-H leader, was a member of the Pleasant - Ridge and Progressive Clubs, served on the Jones County Historical Preservation Commission, was very active in the Wyoming Historical Museum and Gift Shoppe, and had worked for many years in the Floral Hall during the Wyoming Fairs. Margaret also served as a substitute librarian at the. Wyoming Public Library for several years. Margaret, is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Lois Fulton and husband, Tim of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Patricia Eichhorn and friend Charlie Wiechert of Fort Collins, Colorado; four sons, Phillip and wife Carol of Lake City, Jim of Wyoming, Pete and wife Jade of Kaunakakai, Molokai, Hawaii, and Doug and wife Val of Indianapolis, Indiana; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one brother, Allan Deischer of Mechanicsville. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; one infant, grandson, Jeff; and one daughter-in-law, "Hobie". Funeral services were, conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 17, 1997 at the First Presbyterian Church in Wyoming, Iowa, With the Revs. Paul Skelley and Dick Skelley officiating. Burial was in Cady Cemetery, Wyoming, Iowa. Friends called at the Hayden Funeral Home' in Wyoming Sunday, November, 16 from 2-7 p.m. Casket Bearers were Harlan Jacobson, Paul Huston, Clifford Dirks, William.Walters, Royal Snyder Jr., and Merle Aldrich. Honorary casket bearers were William Reed and Leonard Wynkoop.
