Description	:	Margaret "Peggy" Weigel/Wikel, married William Dodson in Augusta County, Virginia in 1813. They traveled on the wagon roads into the mountains, stopping in Monroe County, Virginia, briefly before going to Montgomery County, Ohio. From the Sangerville, area of Augusta County, Virginia, they would have traveled through Buffalo Gap and into Allegheny County. Riding in a wagon or upon horseback, their travel would have taken them through Clifton Forge, and then to Sweet Springs, in Monroe County. They would have turned westward and then traveled to Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, and journeyed upon the Fayette Turnpike into the Kanawah Valley; present... Cooper sold to Wm. Dodson, May 13, 1814. Held it to 1827. Where several of their children were born. Around 1835, Margaret Wikel Dodson and William Dodson and their family moved from Montgomery County, Ohio to the Sheffield Township of Tippecanoe County, Indiana. There were seven children: Albert Dodson, who died in Dewitt County, Illinois. He married Rebecca Wikle in Ohio. Her mother was Catherine. John Dodson, who relocated to Urbana, Champaign County, Illinois. Elizabeth Dodson, who married Wilson Collins, and she died 1895, in Champaign County, Illinois. Rebecca Dodson, who married George Bowsher, of Tippecanoe County. Both are buried in the Wyandot Cemetery. Jacob Dodson, who moved to Kansas. Levi Dodson,married Mary Lupton, daughter of Isaac Lupton and Catharine Lupton. They had six children in their marriage, 4 girls and two sons. They had resided in Hyde Park, Chicago, in the 1880's and then moved out of Chicago. William Dodson, who was twice married. His first wife, Hannah Young. Their family is buried in this cemetery. His second wife whom he married Dec 15, 1866, was Sophia Kingsbury. They didn't have any children, but had adopted a daughter, Katie; and it appears a Charles H. Baddeley, may have been adopted as well. They resided in Champaign, Illinois and also within Chicago, Illinois. Ref: The Biographical Record of Champaign County Illinois; S.J. Clarke Publishing Company, 1900 Margaret, age 55, was living in household 244, Sheffield, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, along with husband William Dodson, age 62, and a son, Jacob Dodson, age 23 ; when the 1850 Census records were taken. A Melinda Dodson, age 8, is listed on the 1850 Census. Melinda Dodson, appears to be a daughter of Elizabeth Dodson Collins. Elizabeth Collins is later living in the home of William Yount and Melinda, in Champaign, Illinois. Melinda Dodson married a William Yount; born 1842 and died 1928, in the Mayfield Cemetery, Champaign, Illinois. See Find A Grave Memorial# 44701647. Margaret Dodson didn't appear on the 1860 or 1870 census tabulations. In the "Biographical Record of Champaign, Illinois" on page 215, the sentence "His wife had past away some years before, dying in 1875" indicates the death year for Margaret Weigel/Wikel Dodson.
