Description	:	Margaret Rosa Brinkel Van Luchene, 81, was born May 28, 1936, in Columbus, and was the youngest child of William and Regina (Forster) Brinkel. Rosa attended Billings Central Catholic High School, graduating in 1955. She also attended Saint Mary College (University) in Leavenworth, Kansas. In 1959, Rosa met Richard Van Luchene and they were married on Oct. 22, 1960, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Billings. Rosa was the proud mother of three sons, Curtis, Keith and Craig. In 1959, Rosa met Richard Van Luchene and they were married on Oct. 22, 1960, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Billings. Rosa was the proud mother of three sons, Curtis, Keith and Craig. She devoted much of her life to raising her boys and sadly lost her son, Keith, on Oct. 30, 1984. Rosa was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Billings, where she taught catechism classes. Known for her talents with crafts, one would often see Rosa with knitting needles in hand creating items like woolen slippers for someone she loved. In the 1980s she owned and operated Klay Knook Ceramics, taught ceramics classes privately and at a senior center. She was a member of Mountain Ceramics Association and was a Certified Duncan (ceramics) Instructor. She was also a long-time member of the Billings Elks. Rosa and Dick also enjoyed many weekends in the out-of-doors at their cabin on the Stillwater River west of Absarokee, Montana. Rosa loved her boys, her grandsons, Vance, Travis, Alek and Tyler, as well as her great-grandsons Elliot and Peter. She is also survived by her siblings, William F. Brinkel of Billings, Montana and Sister Dolores Brinkel, a Sister of Charity of Leavenworth of Helena, Montana. She was predeceased by her son, Keith, her parents and older brother, Joe Brinkel of Laurel. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. Source: Billings Gazette
