Margaret Schaff was born on April 24, 1923 in Ryegate, Mont., the daughter of Adam and Veronica (Emter) Schaff. In 1925, she moved with her family to the St. Joseph's area, south of Glen Ullin. She attended school in Grant County. Margaret married Ralph Fitterer on Nov. 9, 1943. They lived on and farmed the Fitterer homestead. In 1981, they then moved to Bismarck. Margaret loved her family, cooking, gardening, dancing and playing cards. She was a member of St. Joseph's Christian Mothers and St. Anne's Circle. She is survived by her husband, Ralph; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dale Fitterer, Fargo, and Sid and Michelle Fitterer, Bismarck; three daughters and one son-in-law, Kathy Kennedy, Bandera, Texas, Marilynn Tong, Devils Lake, and Debbie and Mark Gietzen, Bismarck; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Florentine and Kenneth Malsbury, Ann Hellman, Betty and Chris Hopfauf, Rose Francisco, Eve and Mike Francisco; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Leo Schaff, Matt and Pauline Schaff, Mike and Helen Schaff, Domonic and Cyndy Schaff, and Lawrence and Sally Schaff. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Andrew and Anthony Schaff; one son, Leslie Fitterer; and one daughter-in-law, Camille Fitterer. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)
