She had made her home with her daughter since last May, and was bedfast the past three months. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at St. Bonaventure Catholic church, with the Requiem High Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery here. The body will lie in state at the McKown Funeral home Sunday from 10 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. when it will be taken to the William Thiele home east of Columbus. Rosary will be prayed there at 7:30 p.m. by members of St. Anne's society and at 8 p.m. by relatives and friends. Born in Trier, Germany on Aug. 25, 1865, Mrs. Kaster was the daughter of Wilibrord and Wilhelmina Shaney. At the age of 18 she came to the United States and settled in Rockford, Ia. Her marriage to Peter Kaster took place Aug. 20, 1889, after which they farmed near Charles City, Ia., until 1914 when they moved to a farm near Clearwater, Neb. In 1927 they retired and moved to Columbus. Following the death of Mr. Kaster on Jan. 21, 1933, Mrs. Kaster continued to reside in this city for four years, after which she spent some time with her sons, Peter and Wilbert Kaster, at Clearwater. In 1937 she made her home in Elgin where she resided until two years ago when her health failed. During her illness she lived at the homes of her children. A member of St. Bonaventure Catholic church, she was also a member of St. Anne's society. Surviving Mrs. Kaster are: one daughter, Mrs. William Thiele of Columbus; four sons, John, Peter and Wilbert of Clearwater, and Matthew of Casselton, N.D.; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph, who died at the age of 12; one daughter, Barbara, a twin, who died in infancy; and two grandchildren. ---------------------------- The Columbus Daily Telegram, November 27, 1951 KASTER--Services Held - Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Bonaventure Catholic church for Mrs. Margaret Kaster, 86, who died Friday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Thiele. The Rev. Fr. Martin Wolter was celebrant of the Requiem High Mass which members of St. Anne's society attended in a body. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased: LeRoy Sprunk, Bernard Kaster, Robert Smith, Lawrence, Arnold and Wilbert Thiele. Out-of-town relatives and friends attending were: Mr. and Mrs. John Kaster, Marlene, Carol Rae and Judy, Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Kaster, Wilbert and Bernard Kaster, Mrs. Lizzie Kaster, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Thiele and Terry Lee, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Thiele, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Moser, Mr. and Mrs. John B. Knievel, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Knievel, all of Clearwater; Helena Thiele of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Bill E. Helm and Kenneth of Ft. Collins, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Boyer of Dodge.
