Description	:	Margaret Focher, 93, passed away April 15, 2014, at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Helena. She went to be with her love of 71 years, Lawrence. Read More	Margaret Focher, 93, passed away April 15, 2014, at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Helena. She went to be with her love of 71 years, Lawrence. I'm sure they had a great Easter after a year apart. Margaret was born in Valier, to Minerva and Victor Soens. When she was 9, the experiment farm closed and they moved to Huntley. There her dad built a log cabin by the river with a sod roof. She talked of the goat on the roof and eating all kinds of things. They later moved to a farm on the lower canal. When she was in the ninth grade her mom's health declined, so she stayed home to help out. She talked of working in the beet fields, stacking hay, cooking, canning, as well as taking care of her siblings and mom. By the time she could go back to school she had so much to catch up on that she missed, her dream of being a nurse burst. Then she met Lawrence Focher. They married April 8, 1942. That fall Lawrence was drafted into the army. While he was in Oklahoma, Margaret worked as cook on a ranch, and baked cookies for Lawrence. They were expecting a baby in July. In June, Lawrence's mom was able to get him home just days before he was to be shipped out to go to war in Europe as she needed him to run the farm. Daughter Marjorie was born the following month. Two years later, daughter Donna was born. Margaret's family fell apart and Margaret and Lawrence raised her little brother Francis. They moved to the farm next to Lawrence's mom. There they farmed until 1959 and moved to Worden. There they built a home. Margaret helped in the clinic across the street and later cleaned the clinic for many years. Margaret loved fruit trees, a garden and many flowers. In 1996, they moved to Livingston. There they grew a garden and planted many flowers. They had great neighbors and friends. Margaret loved it there. May she have many roses and flowers in her world with the Lord. Margaret left two daughters, Marjorie (Ron) Engdahl, of Helena. Donna Mullin, of Billings; four grandchildren, Stan Engdahl, Everett, Wash.; Larry Engdahl, Helena; Ron (Lori) Burchett and Glenda Onstand, Shepherd; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Smith Downtown Chapel, located at 925 S. 27th St. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The casket is closed
