Description	:	DARLINGTON - Mrs. Margaret Flowers , wife of Mr. Frank Flowers , died April 18, 2016. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Black Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Auburndale Cemetery (100 Auburndale Road, Darlington, SC) directed by Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home of Darlington. Mrs. Flowers was born in Morganfield, Kentucky, December 18, 1925. She was a daughter of the late Minor Dewitt and Bessie Jo Waggner Steger . Read More	DARLINGTON - Mrs. Margaret Flowers , wife of Mr. Frank Flowers , died April 18, 2016. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Black Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Auburndale Cemetery (100 Auburndale Road, Darlington, SC) directed by Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home of Darlington. Mrs. Flowers was born in Morganfield, Kentucky, December 18, 1925. She was a daughter of the late Minor Dewitt and Bessie Jo Waggner Steger . She attended Union County Schools and was very active in Morganfield Baptist Church. On August 27, 1952, she married the love of her life of 64 years, Frank Flowers of Darlington. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Flowers owned and operated Auburndale Plantation and Dairy in the Auburn community of Darlington County. It was there they raised their four children. Mrs. Flowers was a longtime member of Black Creek Baptist Church where she was very active in the Lucy Smith Circle and all activities of her church. She was also a member of many organizations over the years to include The Women's Farm Bureau Committee. She was an avid gardener, she loved to cook and she shared both with her friends, family, and those less fortunate. Survivors are her husband, Frank M. Flowers ; three sons, Dr. Frank Flowers , Jr., of Laguna Beach, California, Marshall Flowers and wife Kathi and Damon Flowers and wife Susan, both of Darlington; one daughter, Meg Clark and husband Don of Hartsville. She was the loving grandmother of seven grandchildren, Ginny Munson and husband Kevin, Wells Flowers and wife Kirby, Dr. Damon Flowers , Jr., Caroline Clark, Susanna Flowers , Anna Clark, Don Clark, Jr., and four great-grandchildren, Tillman Munson, Bennett Munson, Makinley Weaver, and Marshall Flowers , III. The family wishes to express their appreciation to all of her loving caregivers, the wonderful staff at Morningside of Hartsville, and Embrace Hospice. Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by her brother, Sam Steger , and her sister, Elizabeth Steger . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Black Creek Baptist Church and at all other times at the home of Marshall and Kathi Flowers home, 2900 Levensworth Road, Darlington,SC 29540 Memorials are suggested to Black Creek Baptist Church, 137 Mont Clare Road, Darlington, SC 29540, or to The Samaritan's Purse, C/O Franklin Graham Ministries, 1 Billy Graham Pkwy., Charlotte, NC 28201.
