Description	:	She came to Guttenberg in 1855 via the Mississippi River from Cincinnati, Ohio, and was married to Henry Otto Eppens on December 31 1866. She is the mother of Amelia, Elizabeth, Ida, Walter, Emma, Mabel and Ella. "Mrs. Eppens was engaged in the hotel business in Guttenberg for practically all of her active years. She retired in October 1909 and has since lived quietly with her daughter Emma in their home at this place. The traveling public held Mrs. Eppens in the highest regard. For years she catered to her clientele, but she was more than a good business women.... She died at the home of her daughter Emma on October 20, 1932 and was survived by 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchidren.
