Description	:	Margaret Tonneson, 85, of Forest City, Iowa, died Friday, March 1, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa. Burial will be later at Newburg, North Daktoa. Margaret E. Tonneson was born Novemeber 25, 1916, the daughter of John and Jenny (Persson) Thorenson of Torquay, Saskatchewan, Canada. At three moths of age, Margaret immigrated with her family to Newburg, North Dakota. Read More	Margaret Tonneson, 85, of Forest City, Iowa, died Friday, March 1, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa. Burial will be later at Newburg, North Daktoa. Margaret E. Tonneson was born Novemeber 25, 1916, the daughter of John and Jenny (Persson) Thorenson of Torquay, Saskatchewan, Canada. At three moths of age, Margaret immigrated with her family to Newburg, North Dakota. Margaret attended school in Newburg and received her B.A. degree from Minot State and her M.A. from the University of North Dakota. She married Otto Tonneson on June 29, 1938. They taught school in Gackle, North Dakota and Voltaire, North Dakota. In 1943, they returned to the home farm in Newburg, North Dakota, where Otto continued to teach. In 1955, the couple began teaching at Dakota Lutheran Academy in Minot, North Dakota. The farmed and taught until 1964, when they began their college teaching at Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa, where Margaret taught English. Both Margaret and Otto retired in 1983. In addition to a career in education, Margaret was actively involved in Phi Theta Kappa, Sons of Norway and Gideons International, as well as the activities in her church. Margaret is survived by her five children, their spouces and families, Jim and Carolyn, of Fergus Falls, Minnesota and their children, Mark and his wife, Jennifer Thorson and their son, Owen, and Kimi; Jon and Joanie, of Newburg, North Dakota and their daughter, Jill Britz and her husband, Andy, and Jay; Jo Anne and Keith Helland, of Lake Mills, Iowa and their daughters, Joy and Janelle; Jeannine and Darwin Bruesewitz, of Isle and their son; Jeff and Amy Holdgrafer and their daughter Gavyen, and Jana; Jerry and Cindy of Davenport, Iowa and their children Renae and Michael. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband Otto; her brother, George, and sister, Ann.
