She was preceded in death by her husband, Bynum G. Proffitt; granddaughter, Amber Proffitt and her father and mother, Leonard and Effie Wilson. The funeral service for Mrs. Margaret Wilson Proffitt will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state two hours prior to the service. The Rev. David Clippard will officiate. Burial will follow in Meat Camp Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Meat Camp Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 236 Meat Camp Baptist Church Road, Boone, NC 28607; or the Resident Council Fund, c/o Marie Tsourakis, Blowing Rock Hospital, 416 Chestnut Drive, Blowing Rock, NC 28605.
