With her parents she left Russia and came to the United States in 1879 and was confirmed in this country. She was united in marriage with Valentine Lehr on November 22, 1891. Read More	Transcribed by Michael Bowen, MRB, #47351043 The Tripp Ledger, April 21, 1949 The deceased Margaretha Lehr nee Goehring was born August 10, 1872, and baptized August 20, 1872, in Kassel, South Russia. With her parents she left Russia and came to the United States in 1879 and was confirmed in this country. She was united in marriage with Valentine Lehr on November 22, 1891. This union was blessed with nine children, five sons and four daughters. A daughter, a son and her husband preceded her into Eternity. She has been living on the home place since 1894, about 3.5 miles southwest of Tripp. She became ill on Thursday, April 7, and was taken to the Parkston hospital on Friday morning. She improved, and it was planned to bring her home on Saturday, but she died suddenly on Sunday, April 10 around 5:30 in the morning. Mrs. Lehr reached the age of 76 years, 7 months, and 22 days. She leaves to mourn her death: four sons, Edward, Abraham, Paul and Edwin, all of Tripp; 3 daughters, Mrs. Gottlieb Schmidt of Tripp, Mrs. Karl Mayer of Warner, SD, and Mrs. Alfred Weisser of Delmont, SD; also 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Goehring of Zapf, ND; one sister, Mrs. Christian Gran of Saskatchewan, Canada; as well as other relatives and friends.
