She was married to Charles Wetzler on the 6th day of July, 1862, at Monroe, Wis. The family resided in Wisconsin until 1878, when they removed to Brown County, Kansas. They came to Marshall county in 1881, and ever since have resided upon the farm where Mrs. Wetzler died. Mrs. Wetzler leaves behind her, in addition to her husband, nine children, to mourn the loss of a kind, affectionate and loving mother. A year ago or more, when sickness came upon her husband, Mrs. Wetzler, with a devotion that knew no limit, ministered to his comfort. She bore burdens of care that few have ever carried. Although the poison of disease and death was then in her veins, her conduct was so brave and heroic as to tighten the bonds of love and affection between herself and her husband. In his sickness she was his main support and comfort, and in her death he feels and acknowledges the loss of his greatest earthly treasure. Mrs. Wetzler was a model wife and mother; she discharged her full duty to her husband, her children and her friend; she lived a life of usefulness, and always observed moral and social mandates. She did right for the sake of right, which is the noblest ___ of man.
