Here she received her Christian training in the One Thing Needful and was confirmed on the 17th day of April, 1881, by Pastor Schenkheld. Her father and brother already living in America, she with her mother also came to this country and lived near Minden in 1892. On the 15th of August, 1897, she was married to Mr Ernest Schukei. Apr 1, 1926 - page 1 Mrs. Mararetha (sic) Schukei, nee Kellner, was born on the 9th of April, 1867, at Hessen Nassau, Germany. Here she received her Christian training in the One Thing Needful and was confirmed on the 17th day of April, 1881, by Pastor Schenkheld. Her father and brother already living in America, she with her mother also came to this country and lived near Minden in 1892. On the 15th of August, 1897, she was married to Mr Ernest Schukei. From this union seven children were born, five of them are still living, namely three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Daniel Roeder and Ida J., Hulda A., Willie W, Ernest F. Jr., and are at home near Juniata. Funeral services were held at the home and at the Wanda Lutheran church (sic) near Juniata, Nebraska, Sunday, March 21, 1926, conducted by her pastor, Rev A W Wilk, in the presence of a great number of friends and relatives, who with her relatives mourn her departure because of her kindly, sympathetic and social nature. The casket containing her earthly remains was literally banked with many beautiful flowers as a faint token of esteem in which she was held She was buried at the Zion Lutheran cemetery (sic). The pallbearers were: Henry Nienhueser, Fred Stichweh, Henry Riese, Christ Latter of Minden and Claus Weick. The flower carriers were: Emily Wilk, Ruth Plambeck, Hilda Borchers, Mildred Fisher, Esther Riese and Margaret Katzberg.
