Description	:	Margaretha "Maggie" Kaiser was the first of her siblings to be born in America. Her parents, Anna Maria "Mary" née Stechner and Peter Kaiser were German immigrants from Ketschenbach, in Sachsen-Coburg, which is in modern day Bavaria. They decided to emigrate to America and on December 13, 1853 they arrived in New York City. Her parents, Anna Maria "Mary" née Stechner and Peter Kaiser were German immigrants from Ketschenbach, in Sachsen-Coburg, which is in modern day Bavaria. They decided to emigrate to America and on December 13, 1853 they arrived in New York City. Her parents settled in La Moille Township in Bureau County, Illinois and it was on the family farm that she was born on April 29, 1855. She was joined by a younger brother, Christian, on December 25, 1857. Her parents attended St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed (Lutheran) Church on old Chicago Road and it was here that she and her brother were baptized. Her parents moved to a new farm in Brooklyn Township in neighboring Lee County around 1859. It was here that her next two siblings were born, Anna Barbara "Barb", on May 9, 1860, and Maria Carolina "Mary", on May 28, 1862. On July 13, 1864, when she was 10, her father was killed in a farming accident, when he fell through the threshing floor and his legs were so badly lacerated that he bled to death. When Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Brooklyn Township was founded in 1865, the family transferred their membership from St. Paul's to Immanuel. On June 28, 1866, her mother remarried to Friederich Schwichtenberger, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mendota, La Salle County, Illinois. She and her siblings welcomed a little half sister, Anna Wilhelmina "Minnie" Schwichtenberg, on July 26, 1867. On April 19, 1868, Maggie was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mendota, Illinois. Later that same year on on November 26, her family had another addition to the family, a little half brother, Karl Schwichtenberger. However, 3 months later, on February 26, 1869, the family was saddened by the death of little Karl. On July 13, 1873, Maggie married John Heinke, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mendota, Illinois. Many of her husband's family had migrated further west to Otoe County in Nebraska, and in 1873, she and her husband joined the Heinke family migration. They settled on a farm in Wyoming Precinct, in Otoe County. It was here in Nebraska, that her and John's five children would be born. Her mother passed away on November 22, 1883. Maggie passed away on December 24, 1908 following a four week illness due to heart problems. Funeral services were held on December 28 at the Reformed Lutheran Church in Nebraska City, the Reverend Drester officiating. Left to mourn were her husband and her five children: Mary Fenske, Fred, Minnie Hobbie], Louise Schreiner, and Catharine at home. Her brother, sisters, and a nephew, George Kaiser, attended from out of town.
