This rare event, marking the 50th anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Olltman Hilbers, was celebrated in becoming style at the residence of their son, Dietrich Hilbers, Tuesday, Sept. 15th. About fifty of their relatives and four hundred friends and neighbors joined in the festivities of the occasion, which lasted from Tuesday morning until Wednesday morning. The presents were numerous and costly, and we are sorry we did not make a list of them; but two magnificent chairs for the aged couple attracted our attention as being so very appropriate. Mr. Hilbers is 77 years old and his wife 75. They emigrated to Nebraska from Oldenberg, Germany, in 1870 and located on their farm 9 miles north of Hooper, where they have since resided.
