Description	:	Margie D. Mundt, 93, of Grand Island, formerly of Central City, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society of Grand Island with her family by her side. Margie was born May 30, 1918, at Central City to William and Birdie (Shively) Garrett. Survivors are: sons and daughters-in-law, David and Helen Mundt of Grand Island, Jack and Judy Mundt of Lebanon, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law, Lola and Jim Ruzicka of Grand Island; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson. Margie was born May 30, 1918, at Central City to William and Birdie (Shively) Garrett. Survivors are: sons and daughters-in-law, David and Helen Mundt of Grand Island, Jack and Judy Mundt of Lebanon, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law, Lola and Jim Ruzicka of Grand Island; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson. Margie grew up in the Merrick County area, attending school at Central City. She married John Mundt on Sept. 4, 1941. They farmed north of Central City all their married life and Margie worked for the W.P.A. for a short time. She played the piano by ear and enjoyed working in her back yard and with her flowers. She always had a big garden and enjoyed canning. She was an animal lover and especially loved her dog, Blackie. Mr. Mundt died May 12, 1999. Margie moved to Grand Island in October of 2003, to be near her children. Margie was a past member of the Fairview Church. Margie was welcomed into heaven by her parents, husband John Mundt and grandchild, Johnny Mundt. Burial was in the Bureau Cemetery by Pierce Chapel, Clarks, NE.
