She was born March 11, 1914 in Palouse, Wash., the eldest daughter of Carrie (Long) and Clair Tempero. Read More	BORN TO: Carrie (Long) and Clair Tempero MARRIED TO: William Edgar Rowland, July 1936 Margie Ida Tempero Rowland, Montana resident for 95 years, passed away of natural causes in Hillsboro, Ore., on Jan. 27, 2011. She was born March 11, 1914 in Palouse, Wash., the eldest daughter of Carrie (Long) and Clair Tempero. While she was just an infant her family moved and homesteaded in the Bull Mountains north of Pompey's Pillar, Mont. She grew up as a pioneer. In July 1936 Margie married William Edgar Rowland and traveled with him to his farm in Fishtail, Mont. Margie spent her life as a farm wife, enjoying her home, garden and family. Margie loved her flower garden and she always enjoyed cutting bouquets and delivering them to people in her community. Her gift to her children was the confidence that they could accomplish any task in their dreams. Her quilts were blue ribbon winners and her sewing crafts were unique and prized by anyone who received them. She loved to help others learn sewing skills. She was a 4 H leader, Sunday School teacher and member of the Homemakers club for which she traveled and taught bread making. She and her husband made it a priority to yearly visit their daughter in New Orleans as well as their two sons on the west coast. She always gave the gift of her time to her children. In her retirement years she lived in Red Lodge, Mont., where she worked as a volunteer at the zoo and Senior Center as well as making baby quilts for newborns. In 2009 she moved to Hillsboro, Ore. SURVIVED BY: her three children Leo (LaRayne) Rowland of Hillsboro OR; Roy Rowland of Kent WA; and Shirley Rowland Mellor of Kenner LA. Survived by seven grandchildren Craig (Tiffany) Rowland of Monroe WA; Brian and Paul Rowland of Hillsboro OR; Raymond (Karla) Rowland of Redmond WA; Cynthia (Israel) Rowland of Maple Valley WA; Jeffrey Rowland of New Castle WA; and Cheryl Mellor of Kenner LA. Survived by 5 great grandchildren Jazzlyn, Brooklyn, Hunter and Camden Rowland, of Monroe WA; and Spencer Rowland, of Maple Valley WA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was very much loved and will be missed. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: her parents and four siblings, George Tempero, Ethel Tempero Reid, Zella Tempero Harris and Mildred Tempero Rimestad. A memorial service will be held for Margie at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4 the Red Lodge Community Church. A funeral service will be held at Smith Chapel in Billings at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 4. INTERMENT: Pleasantview Cemetery in Ballantine For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Margie, the family suggests the Red Lodge Zoo or The Red Lodge Community Church.
