Description	:	Margie P. Midkiff Dunford, 74, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2013 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 20, 1938 to the late Emmett and Alta Midkiff. Margie was a member of Temple Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Margie was instrumental with organizing the funerals for the Veterans Honor Guard of Martinsville and Henry County. She was born on November 20, 1938 to the late Emmett and Alta Midkiff. Margie was a member of Temple Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Margie was instrumental with organizing the funerals for the Veterans Honor Guard of Martinsville and Henry County. Margie retired from Bassett Mirror company with 10 years of service. She was a former member of Fontaine Ruritan Club and volunteered for the Ridgeway Rescue Squad, American Red Cross-Disaster Team. She graduated from Temple Bible Institute and Wytheville Community College. Margie loved living life to the fullest but most of all she enjoyed providing a loving home for her family. She will be greatly missed. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by brother, Gene Midkiff; sisters, Joyce Cagle and Faye Midkiff. Margie is survived by her beloved husband of 21 years of marriage, Raymond "Ray" M. Dunford of the home; son, Arthur McClard of Martinsville; brothers, T. J. Midkiff of Richmond, Wayne Midkiff of Alabama , Lee Midkiff and wife, Darislean of Hillsville, VA and Walton Midkiff of Montana; sisters, Brenda Midkiff of Dobson, NC and Bonnie Sumner of Soloam, NC; step-children, Andy Dunford and wife Stacy of Martinsville, Paula Dunford, Michael Dunford, Libby Moore, and Jason Dunford all of Wythe County, VA; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 1:00 pm in the afternoon at Temple Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 and other times at the home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Don Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow the service in Whites Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at Temple Baptist Church for family and friends. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Bassett Funeral Service; P.O. Box 207, Bassett, VA 24055 to help with Mrs. Dunford's final arrangements. Bassett Funeral Service in Bassett is in charge of the arrangements for the Dunford family.
