Description	:	Margle Ray Upson, 77 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. He was born on December 31, 1938 in Holdrege, the youngest of two children born to Harry and Hilda (Pouk) Upson. He received his primary education from rural schools and Mascot and then graduated from Loomis High School with the class of 1956. Read More	Margle Ray Upson, 77 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. He was born on December 31, 1938 in Holdrege, the youngest of two children born to Harry and Hilda (Pouk) Upson. He received his primary education from rural schools and Mascot and then graduated from Loomis High School with the class of 1956. On April 30, 1960, he was united in marriage to Janice Johnson at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege and to this union four children were born: Vicki, Marti, Jodi and Shane. The couple first lived in Loomis for a year until they moved to their home south of Loomis, where they continued to live for 55 years. Margle engaged in farming, raising cattle and did custom haying and trucking. The last nine years, he was employed as a truck driver for CHS and raised goats. In his younger years, Margle broke horses. He always had a love for animals, especially horses and dogs. His love of the outdoors and hunting was passed on to his children and grandchildren. He spent many enjoyable hours hunting and loved the sport of rodeo, especially attending the River City Roundup in Omaha with all his special friends and family. He loved his children and grandchildren, taking them fishing, hunting and teaching them how to fix things with Duct Tape and bailing wire. He had many friends and acquaintances from all over that he loved to visit with. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by his son, Shane; father-in-law and mother-in-law: James R. and Eleanor Johnson; sister, Dorcel Johnson and her husband, Mert; and nephew, Colt Bartels. He is survived by his wife, Janice of rural Loomis; three daughters: Vicki Roeder and her husband, David of Coffeyville, Kansas, Marti Johnson and her husband, Kyle of Atlanta, Nebraska, and Jodi Upson of Hastings, Nebraska; six grandchildren: Kactus Bidwell and her husband, Miles, Kanyon Kelly, Chance Upson, Carlli Sellers, Dawn and Dillion Upson, and their mother, Lisa Jewett; great-grandson, Kash Bidwell; sister-in-law, JoAnn Epping and friend, Otto Osborne of Kearney; brother-in-law, Roger “Swede” Johnson of Holdrege; nieces: Julie Bartels and her husband, Mike of Ragan, Nebraska, Kristi Carlson and her husband, Brad of Minden, Nebraska, Kelly Johnson of Mesa, Arizona, Jamie Allen and her husband, Scott of Wentzville, Missouri, and Jennifer Epping of Kearney; nephew, Tim Epping of Gibbon, Nebraska; and other relatives and many friends. Graveside Memorial Services for Margle R. Upson will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Dave Irwin officiating. The Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege is in charge of the arrangements.
