She received her primary education in Harlan County near Rock Falls, Nebraska and then graduated Valedictorian from Atlanta High School. On September 25, 1948 she was united in marriage to Elda Dale Weidenhaft. The couple made their home in Holdrege, where Marguerite assisted her husband at the hatchery. Marguerite was born November 30, 1917 in Phelps County near Atlanta, Nebraska, the only child of William Henry and Frances Ellen (Clark) Shield. She received her primary education in Harlan County near Rock Falls, Nebraska and then graduated Valedictorian from Atlanta High School. On September 25, 1948 she was united in marriage to Elda Dale Weidenhaft. The couple made their home in Holdrege, where Marguerite assisted her husband at the hatchery. She also worked as a waitress, and was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for thirty years ( this was before the break by the government of A. T. & T. ). Marguerite also enjoyed volunteering at the Christian Homes and Holdrege Memorial Homes in Holdrege. In years past, Marguerite was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and during her married life was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon. On July 7, 1981 she was preceded in death by her husband. She leaves to mourn her passing her cousin, Maxine Gwinner of Holdrege; special friend and caretaker, Larry L. Anderson of Holdrege; other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
