Margaret Bolinger was born in Indiana, October 5, 1846. She is the mother of ten children, six of whom are living. (transcribed by Judy Mayfield) The Walnut Valley Times El Dorado, Kansas Friday, February 18, 1916 page 2 In Memoriam Margaret, beloved wife of Lewis Bolinger, died at the home south of El Dorado, February 2, 1916, after a lingering illness. Margaret Hoffman was born in Randall county, Indiana, October 5, 1846. She was married to Lewis Bolinger, October 18, 1866. In 1880 with their little ones they came to Kansas and located on the farm where she died and which all these years has been their home, and the years have been happy ones, through prosperity and adversity. Mrs. Bolinger united with the Friends church when a girl and lived true to the faith. She was a home lover and that was where one knew her best. She was happiest when in her home doing for her loved ones, a devoted wife and mother, a kind and considerate friend to everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and the whole community. surviving her are her aged broken hearted husband, two sons, Newton and Benjamin Bolinger, four daughters, Mrs. Nettie Henderson, Mrs. John Sapp, Mrs. George Holsey, Mrs. Chas. Davis, 24 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a host of friends. A Friend. (transcribed by Judy Mayfield)
