Marguerite Babe Scase was born October 20, 1889, the daughter of Captain Charles W. and Margaret Winder Huff at their farm home near Massena, and passed away Tuesday evening, January 4 at the Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield following a lingering illness. She joined the United Methodist Church in her early years, and was active in the church and the United Methodist Women as long as she was able. On December 11, 1915 she was united in marriage to George Scase, Sr., in Denver, Colorado. They lived in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, until the fall of 1917, when they returned to Massena, and lived on the family farm until the fall of 1970 when they entered the Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle. The couple were privileged to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in 1965. Mr. Scase passed away in 1972. Surviving are two sons, George N. and his wife, Virginia of Creston, and Charles D. of Massena. Four grandchildren, Christie, Sandra, Larrya A, and George IV and his wife Gail. A step-grandchild, Joe Lee Raasch, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
