Read More	Marguerite June Crouse 1988 Bridgewater Bulletin Marguerite June Crouse, 61, Baker Settlement, passed away Sunday, May 1, 1988, at the South Shore Regional Hospital. Born in Baker Settlement, she was a daughter of Mrs. Alma (Woodworth) Knox and the late Arthur Granville Knox. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and is greatly missed by those family and friends who loved and appreciated her. Subsequent to being employed as a school teacher prior to her marriage, Marguerite was an excellent homemaker, who, in addition to raising and caring for her own three children and tending to the needs of her grandchildren, acted in the role of a foster parent for several years. She was a member of the Bridgewater United Church and also the Ladies Auxiliary of the Baker Settlement Fire Department. She was a wonderful neighbour and friend who willingly helped the residents of her community whenever she was needed. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, William; two sons, Ronald, Baker Settlement; and Royce, Bridgewater; a daughter, Sharon (Mrs. Alan Hayman), Balfron, Colchester County; and three grandchildren, Matthew and Rebecca, Baker Settlement and Jeremy, Bridgewater. Besides her mother, she is also survived by a brother, Harold, Baker Settlement; and two sisters, Phyllis (Mrs. George Wessell), Chelsea; and Greta (Mrs. Perry Veinot), West Northfield. She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy. The body rested at the R.A. Corkum Funeral home, Wileville. A largely attended funeral service was held from the Bridgewater United Church at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 1988, with Revs. Sandy MacLean and Ches MacKenzie officiating. Hymns rendered were "Abide With Me" and "Nearer, My God to Thee," two of Marguerite's favourites. Scripture verses were taken from Psalm 23, Psalm 119, and Marguerite's favourite, Proverbs 3:5 and 6- "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths." She was laid to rest in the family plot in the cemetery at Baker Settlement. Pallbearers were John Veinot, Andrew Veinot, Herm Hyatt, Wilton Bolivar, Jan DeVries, and Michael Marcoux. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
