From the Salem Observer, dated Oct. 4, 2006 Marguerite L. (Miller) Brown, 94, of Salem, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Mass. She was born in Brighton, Mass., grew up and was schooled in Salem, where she graduated from Woodbury High School in 1930. She later graduated from the Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing. (Miller) Brown, 94, of Salem, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Mass. She was born in Brighton, Mass., grew up and was schooled in Salem, where she graduated from Woodbury High School in 1930. She later graduated from the Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Brown was a postal worker for the Salem Depot Post Office. She had also worked as a registered nurse for the Hale Hospital in Haverhill, Mass. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Salem and member of the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed bowling, bird watching, gardening and stamp collecting. She was predeceased by her husband Louis N. Brown, daughter Charlotte Brown, and grandson David Brown. She is survived by sons Martin Brown and his wife Barbara, of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Richard M. Brown and his wife Joanne, of Monson, Mass.; daughter Barbara Nute and her husband Eugene, of O'Fallon, Ill., brother Lloyd Miller and his wife Evelynn of Salem, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great great-grandson, and several nieces and nethews. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Salem. Interrment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Louis and Marguerite Scholarship Fund, c/o Dollare For Scholars, P.O. Box 297, Salem, N.H., 03079.
