She was married to R. W. Stokley the 5th day of March, 1877, at Evansville, Ind. Four daughters came to bless that union: Mrs. Sadie R. White of Bradshaw, Mrs. Generva M. Grace of Big Springs, formerly of Archer, Mrs. Clara Ferguson of Central City and Mrs. Laura B. Wood of Lincoln. She is survived by her husband, thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stokley was the youngest and last of a family of nine children. While a young woman she became a member of the United Brethern Church. Mrs. Stokley grew to womanhood in Indiana, and came to Nebraska with her husband in 1879. She returned to Indiana in 1883, but two years later came back to Nebraska. In 1890 she again went to Indiana where she cared for her father-in-law until death. Upon her return to Nebraska in 1892 she located at Douglas, where she resided eighteen years, then she spent two years in Lexington. With her husband, she returned to Merrick Co., in 1913, and resided here until the summons came. The funeral service was held from the Friends Church in Central City, Thursday afternoon Febr. 9th at 2:00 with Rev. S.T. Geiger, pastor of the Methodist Church in Palmer, in charge, assisted by President O. W. Carrell of Nebr. Central College. (Funeral details followed.) Interment was made in the Central City Cemetery.
