In 1931, she moved with her family to Beatrice and she attended the Beatrice Public Schools. She worked as a teen cleaning homes for people throughout Beatrice. She was married to Fred Daubendiek on July 21, 1940 at St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice, Nebraska and they lived and farmed near Pickrell, Nebraska. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell, Nebraska and was currently a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice, Nebraska where she had been active in the ladies circle. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, working in her garden and all the farm animals. Survivors include two sons, Roger Daubendiek and his wife Betty of Pickrell, Nebraska and Bruce and his wife Elizabeth of Beatrice, Nebraska. One daughter, Joyce Harms and her husband Robert of Pickrell, Nebraska. Eight grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Eilert and Alice Frerichs Zimmerman, her husband Fred who died on February 10, 2001, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 1:30 P.M. at the St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice, Nebraska with Pastor David Kramer, Pastor Joann Kramer and Pastor Richard Fruehling officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice, Nebraska. A family prayer service will be held at 1:15 P.M. in the church chapel. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice with Arnold and Viola Spilker in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice, Nebraska from 11:00 A.M. Tuesday until 10:30 A.M. Thursday morning and then at the church one hour preceding the services.
