Burial was in the Odessa Cemetery, under direction of the Strate Funeral Home. Mrs Jeske died at a Spokane hospital on Friday night, after nearly two weeks of hospitalization. Pallbearers included Emmanuel Salo, Jacob Quast, H B Schafer, John Lobe, Wentel Weber and Conrad Gies. Maria Jeske, daughter of Mr and Mrs Wilhelm Janke, was born April 28, 1872, in old Art-Zies, South Russia. On Oct 21, 1893, she was married to Daniel Roloff, and 11 children were born to this union, three of whom preceded their mother in death. Shortly after their marriage they came to the United States and settled for a while at Kulm, North Dakota. From there they came in 1904 to Washington, settling on a farm seven miles southwest of Odessa. Later they moved to the Jim Farmier coulee, where May 4, 1916, Mr Roloff died. In April 1917, she married Jacob Jeske, accepting the care of five step-children, one of whom died later. ON June 26, 1946, Mr Jeske died. She lived along until illness compelled her to make her home with her daughter, Mrs Schauerman. On April 12 she was removed to the hospital. Survivors include three sons, Bernhart Roloff, Olympia; Richard Roloff, Odessa, and Leonard Roloff, Spokane; five daughters, Mrs Solomon Lobe, Olympia; Mrs Conrad Schauerman, Odessa; Mrs Ed Brost, Terry, MT; Mrs Cecil Sloan, Spokane, and Miss Tina Roloff, Odessa; 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, two stp-sons, Henry and Dan Jeske, Peshastin; two step-daughters, Mrs August Giese, Odessa, and Mrs Matilda Fitz, Lind, and 18 step-grandchildren, and three brothers, Rudolph Janke, Ferndale, John and Ferdinand in Germany; four sisters Wilhelmina, Rosina, Lydia and Katharina, all in Germany."
