Description	:	Mrs. Gerrit Ruisch, nee Marie Johanna Fredriks, died at the family home two miles south of Alton, on Monday, April 1, at the age of fifty-two years and two days. She was born in Chicago on March 30, 1877, and the following year moved with her parents to the present farm. She was a daughter of the late Mrs. L. Vander Meer, who passed on four years ago. On March 25, 1897, she was married to Mr. Gerrit Ruisch, who survives, the union being blessed with four children, one of whom, Frances Elizabeth, died in 1913 at the age of four... Read More	Mrs. Gerrit Ruisch, nee Marie Johanna Fredriks, died at the family home two miles south of Alton, on Monday, April 1, at the age of fifty-two years and two days. She was born in Chicago on March 30, 1877, and the following year moved with her parents to the present farm. She was a daughter of the late Mrs. L. Vander Meer, who passed on four years ago. On March 25, 1897, she was married to Mr. Gerrit Ruisch, who survives, the union being blessed with four children, one of whom, Frances Elizabeth, died in 1913 at the age of four years. The living children are Edward, Cherokee; Mildred, Mrs. Gerrit Beltman, Orange City; and Robert, at home. In addition to four grandchildren she is survived by one brother, Gerrit Fredrika of Steem,Minn., and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Van Meeveren of Orange City, and Mrs. H. Niuwenhuis of Sheldon. Her life was one of Christian faith. She was a devoted member of the First Reformed Church of Alton, and an earnest worker in all religious activities activities until her illness intervened. She was ever a loving wife and mother, and a kind neighbor, and leaves a host of friends who mourn her demise. Although apparently in good health and illness not appearing serious, about four months ago her illness became more of an serious nature and she submitted to an operation at Rochester during the latter part of January. Her life was despaired of and she came home, the fatal disease slowly continuing it's destructive course. Anxious indeed to live and enjoy her home and dear ones, no complaints came from her lips during her hours of suffering, testifying that she was ready to meet her Lord and Master. Funeral services are being held this Thrusday afternooon, at one o'clock at the home and at two o'clock at the First Reformed Church, Rev. J.R. Euwema officiating.
