Read More	Per Ruth Tobias' COOPER.—Died at her residence, in Lee township, Athens county, Ohio, Mrs. Marion Cooper, wife of D. M. Cooper, in her 34th year. The subject of this notice was born in Somerset county, Pa., February 12th, 1842, and moved with her parents, Jesse and Elizabeth King, to Athens county in the year 1848, and settled in Lee township, where they remained until the time of their respective deaths. In her 18th year the deceased obeyed the commands of our Saviour and was immersed, professing faith In Christ for salvation and identified herself with the Church of God, generally known as Disciples or Christians. In her 26th year she married David M. Cooper, with whom she lived affectionately the remaining years of her life, doing all in her power to make her husband, her children and her friends comfortable. She was courteous, kind, economical and industrious, possessing a tact for business that was really surprising, her judgment and faculty for accomplishing and dispatching work were such as we seldom meet with among women, and all apparently without excitement, bluster or passion, quietly and passively performing labors akin to impossibilities. While she presided an angel of mercy in her own household, neighbors bear witness to the fact that when sickness and suffering demanded her assistance and sympathy, the day was never too cold, the night too dark and stormy, nor the roads too miry to keep her from the abode of distress or the bedside of the afflicted. Her last sickness was brought on in part at least, by exposure and taking cold, eventually culminating in catarrhal fever, from which she suffered severely for more than forty days and nights, bearing up under her illness with heroic courage and Christian fortitude, and for the sake of her husband and three little girls felt anxious to recover. But a few days prior to her decease she resigned all to her Father in Heaven and her friends on earth, being solicitous to die, feeling that she had a right to the tree of life and an inheritance that fadeth not away with the spirits of the Just made perfect. Her remains were followed to their resting place (in the Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery) by a large concourse of dear relations and warm-hearted friends, who were ably and appropriately addressed by Rev. Elisha White of the Disciple or Christian Church, from the text found in First Corinthians, 10th chapter and 28th verse; “ The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” His solicitude for the welfare of the husband, children, brothers and sisters of the deceased was strongly evinced by his earnest and kind advice to induce them, if possible, to order their walk and conversation through life that they may have strong hope of entering into that rest which remains for the people of God.
